Are you looking for a cloud hosting service with built-in CDN feature that is not Cloudflare? If yes, you can try Rapyd Cloud. It’s relatively a new name in the web hosting space, but the people behind it are not really new.
It was founded by the original founders of BuddyBoss, a WordPress plugin that has been around since 2011.
Rapyd Cloud is a cloud hosting service designed specifically for WordPress. Much like Pressable and Rocket.net. But you have a dedicated server to run your website.
The Rapyd Cloud hosting service specifically targets dynamic websites like e-commerce websites, LMS websites, membership websites and other website types that involve user interaction.
It even offers some dedicated features for WooCommerce. But before I further cover this, first, let’s get to know closer Rapyd Cloud.

What is Rapyd Cloud?
As briefly mentioned above, Rapyd Cloud is a cloud hosting service designed specifically for WordPress. Meaning that you can only use it to host a WordPress-based website.
The way Rapyd Cloud works is pretty similar to Cloudways (although Cloudways is not designed specifically for WordPress) whereby it offers a dedicated server for every website you add on your account.
Your server (Linux based) has a dedicated CPU and RAM. You can monitor the usage of CPU and RAM on your server using an intuitive control panel that Rapyd Cloud offers.

Every application you need to run a WordPress website already included on your server. From web server, database server to PHP handler.
Those applications are added and configured automatically when you add a new WordPress on your Rapyd Cloud account. You don’t need to install or configure them yourself.
Rapyd Cloud allows you to control each application from a dedicated menu on the control panel.

As you can see above, your server has the following technologies:
- Operating system: Linux
- Web server: SiteSpeed
- Database server: MariaDB
Designed Specifically for Dynamic WordPress-Based Websites
The Rapyd Cloud hosting service is designed specifically for dynamic websites built with WordPress. Think of website types like e-commerce sites, LMS platforms, marketplaces to membership sites.
These types of websites require higher hosting resources because they involve user activities.
Every activity made by users (posting a comment, placing an order, etc.) requires a new query on the server side. Using a cPanel-based hosting service is definitely not an ideal option.
Rapyd Cloud offers a caching mechanism to speed up the PHP query processing to make each user activity to be processed faster.
As I said in the opening section, Rapyd Cloud was founded by the original founders of BuddyBoss, Tom Cheddadi and Michael Eisenwasser, the ones who (should be) understand the challenges faced by those running a dynamic website like a BuddyBoss-based community website.
Rapyd Cloud First Impression
The first impression of Rapyd Cloud is great. It offers a super clean dashboard which is extremely easy to learn and use. It offers four main menu items lie at the top.
- Sites: To manage your websites
- Team: To manage your team members
- Domains: To manage your domain
- Billing: To manage your subscription

The hosting control panel, which you can access by clicking your site under the Sites menu, is super clean. It offers painless site management experience.
Every feature is accessible via the menu panel on the left side.

Adding a New Website in Rapyd Cloud
Adding a new website in Rapyd Cloud is quite easy. If you haven’t added a site on your Rapyd Cloud account yet, you will see the following screen when you click the Sites menu.
To add your website, you can simply click the Create site button on the left column.

You will be asked whether you want to add a new website on a new plan or on a plan you already subscribed to. After selecting your option, you can add some details about your website. Such as site name, temporary domain, server location and PHP version.
You will also see an option whether or not you want to include WooCommerce on your WordPress installation.

Currently, Rapyd Cloud offers only three server locations as follows:
- Northern Virginia (US East)
- Oregon (US West)
- Ireland (Europe)

It takes longer for Rapyd Cloud to get your website ready compared to other hosting services like Pressable, Kinsta or Rocket.net.
That’s totally understandable because there are more components that Rapyd Cloud needs to prepare. Including the operating system (Linux).
Rapyd Cloud Features
Features list:
- DNS Manager
- CDN
- Caching
- Automatic backup
- Plugin and theme management
- File access and database access
- PHP manager
- Security
- WooCommerce features
DNS Manager
The first feature I want to cover is DNS manager.
In Rapyd Cloud, you have two options to connect your domain. First, you can use the DNS manager of your domain registrar (Hover, Name.com, etc.). Second, you can use the DNS manager provided by Rapyd Cloud.
Even so, you are required to use Rapyd Cloud’s DNS manager to use some of the features it offers, including CDN and firewall.
You can access the DNS manager from the Domains menu.

You can add other records, apart from the required records, to integrate your domain with third-party services.
If you want to integrate your domain with Google Workspace, for instance, you can simply add the MX records of Google Workspace.
You can click the Add record button to add a new record in Rapyd Cloud.

CDN
CDN is one the main features that Rapyd Cloud offers. To use this feature, you need to connect your domain and set it as the primary domain. Also, as I have just said above, you are required to use the Rapyd Cloud’s DNS manager.
Once you have connected your domain, you can activate the CDN feature by clicking the three-dot icon on your primary domain.

Upon activating, you will also be asked whether you want to activate the firewall. That’s because Rapyd Cloud uses the same provider for its CDN and firewall features.
What is the CDN provider used by Rapyd Cloud?
Rapyd Cloud uses NOC.org to power its hosting service. Apart from CDN, NOC.org also provides firewall and DNS for Rapyd Cloud.
Rapyd Cloud itself doesn’t disclose the DNS provider it uses for its hosting service, but you can check yourself using the Developer Tools feature of your web browser.

NOC.org itself is a CDN provider built specifically for open-source CMS platforms like WordPress, Joomla and Drupal. It has over 20 data centers spread worldwide.
Rapyd Cloud doesn’t provide a feature to monitor the usage of CDN on your website like, for instance, Rocket.net and Kinsta. But it says that you have unlimited CDN bandwidth.
Caching
Caching is another primary feature from Rapyd Cloud. Instead of one, Rapyd Cloud offers multiple caching features which you can enable according to your needs.
Rapyd Cloud offers server-level caching on both the origin server (the server where your website is installed) and CDN servers (known as edge caching).
On the origin server, Rapyd Cloud uses LiteSpeed Cache, which will store the static HTML files. Only non-logged users get affected by this caching mechanism.
Rapyd Cloud also offers Redis Object Cache, which is super useful if you run an e-commerce site and LMS site.
Another caching feature offered by Rapyd Cloud is OPcache, which is aimed at speeding PHP query processing by storing PHP files on your server.
You can control all of these caching features from the Cache screen inside your hosting panel.

Automatic Backup
Rapyd Cloud offers a built-in backup feature so that you no longer need to install a backup plugin on your website like UpdraftPlus and BlogVault. It offers both automatic backup and manual backup.
The automatic backup feature of your Rapyd Cloud creates a new copy of your website every day. It uses the incremental backup mechanism by only storing data that has been changed since the previous backup. This mechanism can help to save the storage capacity because it doesn’t create a copy of the entire website.
Rapyd Cloud allows you to download your backup files without needing to pay an extra fee, which I really appreciate. As a comparison, SiteGround demands an extra fee of $2.49 per month for the same action. That is why I don’t recommend SiteGround.

Rapyd Cloud doesn’t disclose how long it stores daily backups. One obvious thing. It stores the backup files to a different location from your site installation.
For the backup feature, Rapyd Cloud offers dedicated storage in which the capacity varies, depending on your plan. For instance, the Developer plan users are given the backup storage of 100GB.
Rapyd Cloud offers a super handy feature to monitor the backup storage usage.

Manual Backup is Also Available
Apart from automatic backup, which is performed daily, Rapyd Cloud also offers manual backup option. You can use this option anytime you want to download your entire website (site files and database) for any purpose.

Plugin and Theme Management
In Rapyd Cloud, you can manage both the plugins and themes installed on your website via the hosting panel. You have two dedicated menu items to access the features, the Plugins menu and the Themes menu.
Rapyd Cloud offers a rollback feature to allow you to downgrade to an older version of a theme or plugin.

You can also bulk select plugins and themes to either activate or deactivate multiple plugins/themes at once.
Unfortunately, some crucial actions are not supported.
Rapyd Cloud doesn’t allow you to delete a plugin so that you still need to login to your WordPress dashboard to delete a theme or plugin.
As a comparison, both Rocket.net and Kinsta allow you to activate, deactivate and delete a plugin and theme. Rocket.net even allows you to install a plugin and theme right from the control panel thanks to its integration with WordPress.org repository.
File Access and Database Access
Rapyd Cloud offers an easy way to access your site files: via a file manager.
Yes, Rapyd Cloud offers a super useful file manager which you can use to access your site files. The file manager allows you to do such things as copying a file, deleting a file, renaming a file, and so on.

You can also directly edit a text-based file using a built-in text editor. The feature is quite useful to make a minor update to a certain file. Like adding a new line to the wp-config.php file.

If you prefer accessing your files the techy way, Rapyd Cloud also offers ready-to-use FTP and SFTP account which you can use on a tool like FileZilla or Cyberduck.

What about database access?
Rapyd Cloud comes with phpMyAdmin — complete with the database username and password — which you can use to access your database.

PHP Manager
Rapyd Cloud only supports three versions of PHP 8:
- 8.3.12
- 8.2.24
- 8.1.29
You can switch between each PHP version easily via a dropdown menu just like plugin and theme.
Interestingly, Rapyd Cloud allows you to change the default PHP configuration without actually editing the php.ini file. Instead, it offers an interface where you can add the setting values.
For instance, you can replace the default memory limit from 512 to any value you like. After you click the Save changes button, the changes will be applied to the actual php.ini file on your server.

You can also disable the features you find unnecessary from the interface.
Rapyd Cloud itself uses LiteSpeed as the PHP handler. The number of PHP workers varied depending on your plan.
On the Developer plan, for instance, you get the PHP workers of 18. If necessary, you can restart the PHP workers from the Server menu on your hosting panel.

Security
Every managed WordPress hosting comes with a built-in security feature to protect your website. They mostly use third-party security vendors which are more trusted and reliable.
Rocket.net, for instance, uses Imunify360 to offer real-time malware scanning for its hosting service.
What about Rapyd Cloud?
There are four main security features offered by Rapyd Cloud:
- SSL: Powered by ZeroSSL
- Firewall: Powered by NOC.org
- Malware protection: Powered by Monarx
- WordPress vulnerability detection: Powered by Patchstack
You can monitor the activities of these security services via the Security menu on your hosting panel.

WooCommerce Features
In the opening section, I said that Rapyd Cloud offers some features designed specifically for WooCommerce.
More precisely, there are three features designed specifically for WooCommerce.
Elasticsearch
Elasticsearch is the first WooCommerce-focused feature offered by Rapyd Cloud. The feature is aimed at speeding up the searches on your store, which is super useful if you run a large online store.
To use the feature, you need to deploy an Elasticsearch server on your hosting environment first.
Also, an extra plugin is needed.
Thankfully, you don’t need to configure the Elasticsearch server yourself. Rapyd Cloud will do it for you.
When you switch the toggle to activate the feature, a confirmation dialog will show up to notify you that that Rapyd Cloud will deploy the Elasticsearch server on your environment and install the ElasticPress plugin.

Custom Caching Options for WooCommerce
Rapyd Cloud uses LiteSpeed for the caching feature on the origin server. If you run a WooCommerce store, you can set how often should product caches be purged.

Live Cart
Another WooCommerce-focused feature you can enable in Rapyd Cloud is Live Cart. It is basically a caching mechanism that stores a user’s cart in a private cache.
The feature itself is powered by LiteSpeed Cache’s Edge Side Includes (ESI) technology and you can enable it by simply toggling the switch.

Developer-Focused Features
Rapyd Cloud comes with some useful features for developers or seasoned WordPress users who prefer the techy ways to achieve things.
First, it comes with the ability to check access logs on your WordPress website, which is quite useful for troubleshooting. You can monitor several log types. From server logs, database logs, PHP error logs to Redis logs.
You can download the log files in case you want to perform further analysis using a certain tool.

Second, it allows you to enable debug mode without needing to manually edit the wp-config.php file. Instead, you just need to click the Activate button to enable it. You can find the button on the WordPress tab on the hosting panel.

Third, you can add some cron jobs in case you want to run some background processes on your WordPress site.

Fourth, you can add a staging environment on your website which is quite useful to test some changes before you apply them to your live site.

Performance Testing Results
I can say that the performance of Rapyd Cloud is excellent. Especially the desktop performance. During the test using Google PageSpeed Insights it showed the score of 99 on dekstop and 81 on mobile.
Well, there are some aspects determining the performance of a website, apart from hosting. Including the design structure, the plugins a website is using, theme and the applied optimization tweaks.
But hosting is the main determinant aspect among them. If you switch from a cPanel-based hosting service to Rapyd Cloud (and other cloud hosting services), I bet you will get a significant performance improvement.
Here are the performance testing results of Rapyd Cloud on both desktop and mobile. I used Divi to run the test.
Desktop Performance

Key metrics:
- First contentful paint: 0.5 s
- Large contentful paint: 0.8 s
- Total blocking time: 10 ms
- Cumulative layouts shift: 0.006
Mobile Performance

Key metrics:
- First contentful paint: 2.3 s
- Largest contentful paint: 4.5 s
- Total blocking time: 20 ms
- Cumulative layout shift: 0.015
I have also created a page on UptimeRobot which you can visit to check the uptime history of Rapyd Cloud.

Support
The Rapyd Cloud support is not the best to be honest. Rocket.net has better support than Rapyd Cloud.
But I can say that Rapyd Cloud support is still better than SiteGround.
Rapyd Cloud uses Intercom to offer live chat support to its customers. You will not be greeted directly by a human. Instead, an AI bot will greet you before you can chat with a human.
If you don’t like to chat with an AI bot to get help, you can simply type “pass me to a human“, “I want to talk to a human” or “I don’t want to chat with bot” to directly chat with a human.

Once you are passed to a human, you can start to chat with them to get some help.
How Good is the Support?
The support that Rapyd Cloud provides is great, actually. I chatted with them several times to ask some questions and they always came up with great, helpful answers.

Rapyd Cloud allows you to access your chat history. If needed, you can also temporarily grant access to the support staff to access your WordPress dashboard to fix the issue you are experiencing.
Furthermore, Rapyd Cloud also provides useful documentation which you can read before you start a live chat, which I strongly reccommend.
Rapyd Cloud Pricing
Rapyd Cloud was originally designed specifically for individuals and organizations who prefer to manage their website themselves. Not via an agency. I said so because the the original hosting plans it Rapyd Cloud offered only allow one WordPress installation.
But then Rapyd Cloud introduced Rapyd Cloud 2.0 in May, 2025. The version introduced multisite hosting plans. Since the release, the hosting plan offered by Rapyd Cloud now fall into two categories:
- Single site hosting plans
- Multisite hosting plans

Apart from the three hosting plans above, Rapyd Cloud also offers a dedicated hosting plan for agencies called Agency in which the price starts from $449 per month. The plan is the perfect option if you are an agency.
Pros and Cons of Rapyd Cloud
From the performance perspective, Rapyd Cloud can be a great solution if you are looking for a more solid hosting to host your WordPress website. As you can see above, it has high performance scores on both desktop and mobile.
It’s true that I tested Rapyd Cloud on a static website, not a dynamic website like it is designed for.
But remember again. I didn’t make any optimization tweak on the site I used for the test. No local font, no design optimization, etc. What you see on the screenshots are the pure depiction of Rapyd Cloud hosting quality.
Rapyd Cloud is a great hosting, overall. Not only does it have excellent performance, but it also offers great site management experience with a super clean, uncluttered interface.
Every product/service has an ideal customer profile, however. Rapyd Cloud is not an ideal option for those who are new to WordPress.
It takes some technical knowledge to use Rapy Cloud (and other cloud hosting services in general). Also, Rapyd Cloud is not an ideal hosting for those who need a free email hosting.
Here are some pros and cons of Rapyd Cloud I found during the test.
Pros:
- Dedicated server
- Built exclusively for WordPress
- Great for a high-traffic site
- Excellect performance
- Advanced caching mechanism
- An ideal choice for WooCommerce
- Super clean control panel
- Useful custom PHP configuration
- Friendly support (although you need to get through a bot first)
Cons:
- No email hosting
- Support is not directly handled by a human
- It takes longer to set up a website
Conclusion – So, is Rapyd Cloud a Good Hosting?
A serious online business needs a serious hosting service. Rapyd Cloud is the type of hosting service you can rely on to run a serious online business. It provides isolated, controllable resources to run your WordPress website.
Rapyd Cloud can be a great solution for anyone wanting to scale up their online business running on WordPress. Especially dynamic websites like e-commerce, membership, to LMS.
The hosting environment that Rapyd Cloud provides is more reliable on traffic spikes (which can happen when you run ads) because the resources are not shared with other users.
It comes with a super useful feature to configure PHP, multiple security levers and advanced caching mechanism.
Site management experience is great thanks to its super intuitive control panel.
So yes, Rapyd Cloud is a good hosting service. It is an ideal solution if you:
- Run a WooCommerce-based online store
- Run an LMS website
- Run a membership website
- Need a hosting provider to run a high-traffic site at a lower cost (200,000 monthly visits at only $35 per month)
- Are looking for a Cloudflare alternative for CDN
- Are tired of paying extra add-ons to use certain hosting features (all features are available as the core features)
You can visit its official website to try the experience of managing your WordPress website with Rapyd Cloud yourself.
