Some time ago, I switched from Mailchimp to MailerLite for a specific reason: Mailchimp didn’t enable its double opt-in feature by default. In this review post, I will share my experience of using MailerLite. From what I love and what I don’t about the platform.
Double opt-in is a quite important feature to reduce fake subscribers. That’s why I am so excited when finding the fact that the feature is enabled by default in MailerLite.
After trying the free version of MailerLite for several days, I eventually decided to upgrade to the pro version and stick with it — until today. This has given me a chance to share my experience with those considering to switch to MailerLite.
Here is what I will cover in this in-depth MailerLite review.

💡 What is MailerLite?
Before I further share my experience of using MailerLite, let’s get to know about the platform first in case you are not familiar with it yet.
I primarily use MailerLite to send email newsletters to my subscribers. But MailerLite is not merely an email newsletter platform.
MailerLite is an all-in-one email marketing platform that you can use for a wide range of purposes. Apart from sending newsletter, you can also use MailerLite to send other email campaign types. From welcome emails, promotional emails to course content.
While the core functionality of the platform is to run email marketing, some extra features are also available.
Jump to the next section below to learn more about the features offered by MailerLite.
📚 What Features Available in MailerLite?
Most people (including me), might use MailerLite to send email newsletters. But you can do more than that.
In general, you can use MailerLite alone to run an online business. Especially if you are a text-based content creator. MailerLite has a landing page builder which you can use to create a simple landing page.
It also has e-commerce functionality thanks to the built-in integration with Stripe.
Want to run an email course?
MailerLite also allows you to do that because it comes with a robust automation feature. I have published this post about how to run an email course with MaierLite in case you want to learn more.
Those are just some examples of features available in MailerLite. There are many other features you can use.
Here are the features offered by MailerLite:
- Landing page builder
- Site builder
- Form builder
- Automation
- Subscriber manager
- File manager
- Template manager
- Campaign manager
- Built-in stats
- Email editors
- Personalization
- A/B testing
- Email sending scheduling
- E-Commerce functionality
Landing Page Builder
The first notable feature that MailerLite offers is landing page builder. With this feature, you can create a landing page for a wide range of purposes. From a simple landing page to collect email addresses to a landing page to sell a digital product.
The landing page builder itself offers a drag-and-drop editing experience just like the landing page builder plugins for WordPress such as Elementor and Divi.
Here is the look of the landing page builder feature of MailerLite.
![The look of MailerLite landing page builder feature](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/mailerlite-landing-page-builder.jpg)
You can access the feature by clicking the Sites menu on the menu panel inside the MailerLite dashboard.
As you can see above, there are several elements you can add to your landing page. From text, button, image, video to form. Here is the list of elements available in the page builder editor:
- Heading
- Text
- Image
- Video
- Button
- Divider
- List
- Menu
- Social icon
- Social share
- Table
- Accordion
- Product
- Application (to display App Store and Google Play)
- Sign up form
- Code
- One-time (Stripe payment)
- Recurring (Stripe payment)
Apart from those elements, there are also elements dedicated to adding columns to make it easy for you to arrange the layouts of your landing page design.
![Column elements in MaierLite landing page builder](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Column-elements-634x1024.jpg)
How About the Editing Experience?
To be honest, the page builder feature of MailerLite is not as advanced as a dedicated page builder like Elementor or Divi Builder. That’s totally understandable as MailerLite is an email marketing tool by nature instead of a page builder tool.
But what’s offered by Mailerlite’s landing page builder is not bad at all to create a functional landing page.
All the essential elements are available. Plus, you can also arrange the design layout thanks to the availability of the column elements.
To speed up the design process, MailerLite offers several design presets you can choose from.
![Design presets in MailerLite landing page builder](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/design-presets.jpg)
You can actually create your landing page from a template, but this option is only available on the pro version.
The page builder feature of MailerLite also comes with basic SEO features where you can add page description, page title and keywords.
![Basic SEO features in MailerLite](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/SEO-features.jpg)
The landing page itself can be published on your own domain or on the domain offered by MaierLite.
![Landing page URL setting options in MailerLite](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/landing-page-URL.jpg)
Site Builder
When you click the Sites menu on the MailerLite menu panel, you will be presented with two options. Whether you want to create a landing page or a site.
If you choose the first option, then you can edit the page using the editor as I have just shown above. You can’t add another page.
Conversely, if you choose the second option, you will be greeted with an editor that is a bit different. The settings panel is now on the right side instead of on the left side. Extra panels are available here — accessible via tabs.
One of the panels is the Pages panel where you can manage the pages on your site. You can add, edit and delete pages from this panel.
![Pages panel on MailerLite site builder](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Pages-panel-722x1024.jpg)
Every new page you create will automatically be added to the site header. On the header, you can also add a button.
Same as landing page, you can also add meta description, SEO title and keyword to your site. You can even add a favicon.
You can publish your site on your own domain or on a sub-domain under the domain mailerpage.io.
![The domain options available in MailerLite](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/domain-setting.jpg)
Blogging Feature on Site Builder
Interestingly, the site builder feature of MailerLite also comes with a blogging feature. Meaning that you can write and publish blog posts. You can even create categories to organize your blog posts.
![The menu to manage blog post categories in MailerLite](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/manage-categories.jpg)
The editor you use to write a blog post is the same editor as the one you use to create an email campaign (will be covered shortly).
You can edit the blog page (a page that showcases your blog posts) using the site editor. You can set things like column layout, items per page, the elements you want to show up and so on.
![Blog setting options in MaierLite](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/blog-settings.jpg)
Analytics Feature on Site Builder
Apart from the blogging feature, the MaierLite’s site builder also comes with the analytics feature which you can use to monitor your site growth.
You can monitor metrics like page views, visitors, subscribers collected and conversion rate.
![MailerLite analytics feature on site builder](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/analytics-1024x515.jpg)
If you are a Google Analytics or Meta Pixel user, you can also integrate your account with your MailerLite-powered site.
This feature (Google Analytics and Meta Pixel integration) is also available for landing page builder.
Form Builder
Form is the first gate to get your subscribers to get into your home. It is the most crucial feature you need to build an email list. As an email marketing tool, MailerLite definitely has this feature.
But how good?
There are three form types you can create in MailerLite: Pop-up, embedded form and promotion form.
Promotion form is only available on the Advanced plan so I won’t cover it here (I use the Growing Business plan).
Before covering the form types, let’s cover the basic thing first: the form builder itself.
The form builder of MailerLite supports seven field types as follows:
- Last name
- Company
- Name
- City
- Phone
- State
- ZIP
![Field type options available in MailerLite form builder](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/field-types.jpg)
And there are six options available to input the form data.
- Input
- Text area
- Dropdown
- Radio buttons
- Checkboxes
- World countries
![Input options available in MailerLite form builder](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/input-options.jpg)
Now, let’s cover the form types you can create.
Pop-up Form
As you can guess. This is the type of form that shows up on a pop-up. You can set the position of the pop-up from the pop-up editor. There are five pop-up position options you can choose from.
- On the center
- At the bottom
- At the bottom-corner
- As a full-page pop-up
- On the side of the screen in a full-height mode
![The options of popup locations in MailerLite](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/popup-location.jpg)
You can customize the design of your pop-up via the settings panel that lies on the right side. The editing mechanism is quite similar to site builder.
When creating a new pop-up, you are required to pick a template. But the design is totally customizable. Also, you can add more elements when needed. There are six elements you can add to your pop-up:
- Text
- Image
- Image and content
- Countdown
- Social links
- Divider
Trigger Types and Display Conditions
You can set the behavior of your pop-up. From when it should show up to where it should be displayed.
There are three trigger types that MailerLite supports:
- Delay
- On page scroll
- On exit intent
To improve user experience (because people hate to get bombarded by pop-ups by nature), MailerLite gives you an option to set the period when you want to show your pop-up to the same user.
![Trigger type options and frequency option in MailerLite popup builder](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/trigger-types-and-frequency.jpg)
There are also options to show or hide your pop-up on specific device types and pages.
![Display condition options in MailerLite popup builder](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/display-conditions.jpg)
Embedded Form
Embedded form is the type of form that you can add to a page. Unlike pop-up, the design options are fewer on this form type. You can’t add extra elements, but you still have options to customize the design of the form.
There are three form design options you can choose from: default (stacked form fields), horizontal and card.
![Form design options in MaierLite](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/form-design-options.jpg)
Other elements like background, text and button are totally customizable.
On the Settings tab on the settings panel, you can add elements like privacy policy, confirmation checkbox and so on.
How to Install a Form?
Every form you have created in MailerLite — be it a pop-up form or embedded form — can be installed on your website, regardless of the site building platform you use.
However, you need to make sure that the platform you use allows you to add custom code because you need to add the JavaScript snippet to install a form to a page on your website.
To get the code snippet, you can go to the Overview screen of the form you want to install and scroll down to the JavaScript tracking snippet section. You can get the JavaScript code snippet here.
![JavaScript code snippet provided by MailerLite](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/javascript-code-snippet.jpg)
If you use WordPress, there is an easier way to install your form on your website. MailerLite offers an official plugin which you can use to install your form.
Another Option to Create a Form in MailerLite
Apart from using the MailerLite’s built-in form builder feature, you can also use a third-party form builder plugin to create an email opt-in form for MailerLite.
Some page builder plugins — such as Elementor, Divi Builder, Breakdance to Brizy — also come with a form builder element which you can connect with your MailerLite account via API key.
This option (creating a form using a page builder) is more suited if you want to have full control over your design.
Email Automation
Email automation is a practice where an email — or a series of emails — is sent automatically when a certain condition is met. The condition is usually based on the user behavior.
For instance, you can automatically send an email when a new subscriber subscribes to your newsletter via an opt-in form.
To view the implementation of email automation, you can visit this post where I offer free Elementor templates for those who subscribe to my newsletter. In the example, I use email automation to automatically send the download link of the free templates I promised.
And the automation is powered by MailerLite.
Unlike its competitors like Kit (formerly ConverKit) and MailPoet, the automation feature of MailerLite is available for everyone.
What Trigger Types that MailerLite Support?
The automation feature of MailerLite supports the following trigger/condition types:
- When a subscriber joins group(s)
- When a subscriber completes a form
- When a subscriber clicks a link
- When a subscriber field is updated
In addition, you can also automatically send an email on a specific date. You can even send a birthday message automatically with this feature.
![Trigger types supported by MailerLite automation feature](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/automation-trigger-types.jpg)
If you run an online store, you can also automatically send an email on the following conditions:
- When a customer provides their and leaves before purchasing
- When a customer purchases any product in your store
- When a customer purchases a specific product in your store
- When a customer purchases a product from a specific product category
![MailerLite trigger type supports for online store](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Trigger-types-for-onlines-store.jpg)
Before you can set a trigger type to automatically send an email to your customers, you need to connect your online store first.
The online store platforms supported by MailerLite are WooCommerce, Shopify and BigCommerce.
On your automation (called workflow), you can add six step types: email, delay, condition, action, webhook and A/B test.
![Steps available in MaierLite automation](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/step-types.jpg)
For the Action step, MailerLite offers the following options:
- Update custom field
- Copy to group(s)
- Move to group(s)
- Remove from group(s)
- Mark as unsubscribed
- Move to another step
![Step options on MailerLite automation](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/supported-steps.jpg)
What about the Condition step?
The options available on the Condition step depend on the activity you set. If you set to campaign activity and workflow activity, you will have the following options:
- Had any link clicked
- Had a specific link clicked
- Did not have a specific link clicked
- Was not opened
- Was opened
- Was opened with no links clicked
![Activity options on Condition step in MailerLite automation](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/activity-options.jpg)
And if you set the condition to custom fields, you will see all the fields supported by MailerLite (name, email, address, city, company, etc.).
A little note. Every step you add to the automation is counted. You can add the maximum of 100 steps on an automation.
Subscriber Manager
There are two main ways to build an email list in MailerLite. First, you can use a form. Whether using the built-in MailerLite form builder feature or using a third-party form builder app.
Second, you can manually add the email subscribers.
In addition to those two methods, you can also import email subscribers. The file formats supported by MailerLite are CSV and TXT.
If you want to migrate from Mailchimp, MailerLite offers a dedicated feature to smoothen the process.
![Mailchimp migration feature on MailerLite](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/mailchimp-migration.jpg)
Once you have enough subscribers on your email list, you can manage them.
MailerLite offers two parameters that you can use to manage your email subscribers: group and segment.
Both group and segment are basically lists of subscribers. You can use these parameters to filter subscribers based on certain criteria with the purpose of making the emails you send be more targeted.
What are the differences between group and segment?
Group
Group is a static filtering feature. The subscribers on a group usually come from the same email opt-in form although you can also manually add subscribers to a certain group by editing them.
Segment
Segment is a dynamic filtering feature. You can use it to filter your subscribers with more specific criteria.
For instance, if you have a group named Course Students, you can create a segment to filter subscribers in the Course Students group who live in the US with the purpose of sending tailored email based on their location.
Or you can create a segment to filter those in the Course Students group who have a high click rate.
The number of subscribers on a segment will be updated automatically based on the user activity and behavior.
MailerLite offers 13 filtering criteria to create a segment. You can use multiple criteria on a segment.
- Groups
- Fields
- Signup source
- Location
- Signup date
- Time zone
- Campaigns
- Automation workflows
- Last emailed
- Time inactive
- Stats
- Used subscribers
![Segmentation criteria in MailerLite](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/segment.jpg)
File Manager
Every media file you use on an email is reusable. Meaning that you can use it again in the future on the next emails.
Not only that. You can also use the media files you have used on emails as the content on a landing page or blog post.
Every media file is stored in the cloud and you can manage them using a handy file manager that MailerLite offers. You can organize your files in folders just like macOS’s Finder and Windows’ File Explorer.
![File Manager feature of MailerLite. You can create folders to organize files](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/file-manager.jpg)
As you can see on the screenshot, the file manager feature of MailerLite is integrated with Google Drive, Tenor (GIF provider) and Iconfider (icon provider).
How many files can you store?
There is no limitation regarding the media files you can store in your MailerLite account, but you can’t upload a media file larger than 1MB.
MailerLite offers a dedicated menu to access file manager, but you can also access it from landing page builder and email editor.
The file manager feature of MailerLite has a useful filtering feature where you can filter files by date, name and size. You can also bulk select files.
Template Manager
When creating a new campaign in MailerLite, you have two routes to choose from. First, you can start from scratch. Second, you can start from a template.
Creating templates can be a smart idea to get a new campaign done faster.
I personally always start my new campaign (mostly newsletters) from a template.
A template itself can be an email campaign or a landing page. You can manage your templates via the template manager feature which you can access by clicking the My templates menu on the menu panel.
![Template manager feature in MaierLite](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/template-manager.jpg)
MailerLite itself also offers some pre-made templates you can choose from when creating a new campaign and landing page.
Campaign Manager
MailerLite doesn’t delete the campaigns you have sent. Instead, it stores them so that you can monitor which campaigns that have better performance.
From this process (checking the campaign performance), you can make the evaluation to send a better campaign in the future.
You can access all the campaigns you have sent from the campaign manager feature. From here, you can do several things. Such as deleting a campaign, resending it to new subscribers, sending it to subscribers who haven’t opened it and so on.
![managing campaign in MailerLite](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/campaign-management.jpg)
To better organize your campaigns, MailerLite allows you to create folders which you can utilize to put together campaigns based on certain criteria.
You also have an advanced filtering feature whereby you can filter the campaigns by date, campaign type, campaign name and campaign subject.
![Advanced filtering feature in MailerLite](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/advanced-filtering-feature.jpg)
What Campaigns Can You Send with MailerLite?
You can use MaierLite to create and send several email campaign types. From a simple newsletter to a new blog post notification.
In general, there are five campaign types you can send with MaiLerLite:
- Regular campaign: A regular email campaign. Email newsletter falls into this campaign category
- A/B split campaign: Pretty similar to regular campaign, but you can create two email variations to be sent. More about this will be covered shortly below
- RSS campaign: You can use this campaign to automatically send an email notification over a new blog post on your blog. You can use this campaign on any blogging platform (including WordPress) as long as it supports RSS
- Auto resend campaign: A campaign to give subscribers a second chance to open your newsletter
- Multivariate campaign: Similar to A/B split campaign, but you can create more than two email variations (up 8 variations)
Built-in Stats
MailerLite comes with solid built-in statistics feature which you can use to monitor the performance of the campaigns you have created.
Literally everything you create in MailerLite is tracked, which is great.
In MailerLite, tracking is applied to every level. From campaign level to subscriber level.
On the campaign level, you can monitor stats like how many people have opened your campaign, how many clicks a link (if you have one) has earned, how many people subscribe, email clients used by your recipients and so on.
There are five tabs you can open on the campaign report.
![Report tabs in MaierLite](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/report-tabs.jpg)
If you need it, you can download the stats in a CSV file.
![Stats feature on subscriber level in MaierLite](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/subscriber-level-stats.jpg)
MailerLite allows you to monitor the stats of per group or all subscribers.
Can You Disable the Tracking?
For a privacy reason, you might want to disable the tracking feature on your MailerLite account.
There are two options to disable the tracking feature in MailerLite. First, you can do it from the account level. If you choose this option, every new campaign you send will not be tracked.
To disable the tracking feature on the account level, you can simply open your account settings screen and locate the Tracking options section under the Default settings tab.
![The option to disable MaierLite tracking feature on the account level](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/disable-track-on-account-level.jpg)
To disable the tracking feature on the campaign level, you can simply switch the Track opens toggle off upon a new campaign creation.
![Switching off open tracking on campaign level](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/switch-off-tracking.jpg)
Email Editors
Instead of one, MaierLite offers three email editors: drag and drop editor, rich-text editor and custom HTML editor. You can use these editors according to the campaign type you want to create.
If you want to create a rich-text email (e.g., a newsletter) then you can use the rich-text editor. In this editor, you can add ten elements.
![Available content elements in rich-text editor](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/content-elements.jpg)
This is what I meant when I said that you could use the same editor to write a blog post and email.
Yes, rich-text editor is the same editor to write a blog post in MailerLite.
The editing approach adopted by MailerLite for its rich-text editor is pretty similar to WordPress’ block editor, Medium and several other blogging platforms where the editing menu is shown in a floating bar instead of a fixed bar like, for instance, Google Docs.
![Editing menu in MailerLite](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/editing-menu.jpg)
What about the drag and drop editor?
Drag and drop editor is pretty similar to landing page builder where you can add more visual elements to your email. With this editor, you can add elements like header, footer, CTA, product and so on.
Drag and drop editor is a suitable editor to create a promotional email.
![MalierLite drag and drop email editor](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/drag-and-drop-editor.jpg)
Another email editor offered by MailerLite is custom HTML editor. I can’t further cover this editor as it is not available on my plan. This editor is only available on the Advanced plan.
Personalization
You should not use an email marketing tool if it has no personalization feature. It is a very basic feature that every email marketing tool should have.
In MailerLite, not only can you mention your subscribers’ name, but you can also mention other personalization variables like company, country, email, city and so on.
![Personalization variables in MailerLite](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/personalization-variables.jpg)
These variables are basically the form fields supported by MailerLite’ form builder.
To add a personalization variable, you can click the X icon on the formatting bar inside the email editor.
![Variable options in MailerLite](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/variable-option.jpg)
A/B Testing
Optimizing conversion is a part of your job as an online marketer. A/B testing (also known as split testing) is a conversion optimization feature available in nearly all online marketing platforms.
In MailerLite, you can run an A/B testing by trying some variations of a certain element in your campaign.
A simple instance. You can try two different email titles to test which title performs better once the email is sent.
As previously mentioned, there are five campaign types you can create in MailerLite. One of which is A/B split campaign. You can simply pick this option if you want to run an A/B testing.
![A/B testing variation options in MailerLite](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/variation-options.jpg)
Before you send the email/campaign, you can pick how the winner should be chosen. Whether based on clicks count or open count.
You can also set the percentage of the campaign you want to send during the A/B testing process before sending the rest to the winner.
![A/B testing variation settings](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/campaign-variation-settings.jpg)
Advanced A/B Testing
Standard A/B testing only allows you to test two different variations per element. If you have a huge number of subscribers and want to try more than two variations, MailerLite allows you to do so.
MailerLite allows you to run an advanced A/B testing by testing up to eight different variations on an element.
You can even try different variations on multiple elements at once. For instance, you can try two different email subjects and two different sender’s names at once.
![Advanced A/B testing in MailerLite](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/advanced-AB-testing.jpg)
If you want to run an advanced A/B testing in MailerLite, you can pick the Multivariate campaign option when creating a new campaign.
A/B Testing for Landing Page
Apart from email, you can also run an A/B testing on a landing page. You can do so by creating two or more different landing pages.
When creating a new page for A/B testing, you can choose whether you want to start the page from scratch, copy the original page or copy from another page.
![Creating a new landing page for A/B testing](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/creating-a-new-landing-page.jpg)
MailerLite will determine the winner based on unique visitors.
Unlike email, you need to pick the winner yourself.
![Selecting a landing page winner after running A/B test](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/selecting-a-landing-page-winner.jpg)
Email Sending Scheduling
If you are a “create it first send it later” kind of person then you will love the email sending scheduling feature offered by MailerLite.
There are three scheduling options you can choose from. First, you can send your campaign at a specific time. Second, you can send your campaign based on the timezones of your subscribers.
Third, you can send your email based on the time your subscribers are most likely to engage.
The last option is only accessible if you use the Advanced plan.
![Email sending scheduling feature in MailerLite](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/email-sending-scheduling.jpg)
E-Commerce Functionality
The best part of being a MailerLite user is that you can directly sell your digital product directly on your landing page or website. You can either adopt the one-time payment scheme or subscription-based payment scheme for your product.
But before you use this feature, you need to make sure that the country you live in supports Stripe as MailerLite uses it for its payment gateway.
Some developing countries (such as some countries in South East Asia) are not supported by Stripe yet.
You can configure the Stripe integration from the Integrations screen, which you can access by clicking the Integrations menu on the menu panel.
Once you have connected your Stripe and MaierLite account, you can start adding your product. MailerLite offers two elements dedicated to adding your product to your landing page: One-time and Recurring.
![Stripe elements in MailerLite](https://utilizewp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Stripe-elements.jpg)
You can monitor the sales performance via the overview screen of your landing page or site.

🔧 Can I Integrate MailerLite with My Landing Page Builder?
MailerLite comes with a built-in landing page builder feature, but I have to admit that its capability is still behind Elementor and the likes.
If you are an online marketer who really cares about the design, using a dedicated landing page builder is still a better option.
The question is, can you integrate MailerLite with your landing page builder?
As I have covered above. Apart from landing page builder, MailerLite also comes with a form builder. You can embed your form to any landing page builder — or a website builder — that supports custom code addition.
But again, design is the biggest issue here. If you want to create a form that completely blends with your landing page design, you can use the form builder feature of the landing page builder you use.
Thankfully, most landing page builder plugins support integration with MailerLite.
Here are some examples of landing page builder plugins that support integration with MailerLite:
- Divi ↗️
- Elementor Pro ↗️
- Brizy Pro
- Breakdance Pro
- Themify Builder
What If I Don’t Use WordPress?
Not only WordPress landing page builder plugins and form builder plugins which support integration with MailerLite. Some SaaS-based landing page builders and website builders also support integration with MailerLite.
You can visit this page to learn whether or not your favorite landing page builder supports integration with MailerLite.
🆚 MailerLite Free vs Pro: Comparison Table
MailerLite uses a freemium business model so that you can start with the free version — which is great if you are just getting started into the email marketing world.
You can upgrade to the pro version anytime you think you need to unlock more advanced features.
One thing you need to know in the first place. The free version of MailerLite doesn’t allow you to remove the MailerLite branding. Your email campaigns and landing pages will have a MailerLite logo on the footer section. Outside of this, most basic MailerLite basic features — including automation — are accessible on the free version.
I have created the following table to make it easier for you to compare the differences between MailerLite Free vs Pro:
MailerLite Free | MailerLite Pro | |

💳 How Much Does MailerLite Pro Cost?
When you are ready, you can upgrade to the pro version of MailerLite to unlock more advanced features. But before you upgrade, you definitely need to learn the pricing model first.
MailerLite offers three plans for its paid version. The lowest plan, called Growing Business, starts from $10 per month for 500 subscribers. Once your account has reached 1,000 users, you will be charged $15 per month (+$5).
Once your account has reached 2,500, you will be charged $25 per month. And so on.
Take a look at the following video to learn the price increments.
The maximum number of subscribers you can have on this plan (Growing Business) is 50,000. After exceeding this limit number, “you are forced” to upgrade to the higher plan — the Advanced plan.
With the Advanced plan, you can have up to 1,000,000 subscribers on your account. Apart from subscribers, Advanced plan also offers some extra features.
Another paid plan offered by MailerLite is Enterprise. This plan comes with some VIP features like live chat support, dedicated manager, dedicated IP address and deliverability consultant.
Take a look at the following table to learn the differences between the Growing Business, Advanced and Enterprise:

🆚 MailerLite vs Mailchimp and Other Competitors
As mentioned earlier on the opening section, the main reason I switched from Mailchimp to MailerLite is that Mailchimp didn’t enable the opt-in feature by default. I have a big concern about this particular feature as it affects open rate.
The more subscribers you have, the more money you need to spend as well. But why do you spend money on subscribers who never open your emails?
I don’t want my account to be populated by fake subscribers.
Before settling with MailerLite, I once tried several tools similar to Mailchimp, including MailPoet.
Another reason why I eventually stick with MailerLite is that it is relatively affordable compared to other email marketing tools.
Here is the price of MailerLite compared to several email marketing tools based on 1,000 subscribers:
Platform | Price per month |
---|---|
MailerLite ↗️ | $15 |
Mailchimp | $45 |
MailPoet | $20 |
Kit (formerly ConverKit) | $29 |
ActiveCampaign | $15 |
GetResponse | $19 |
AWeber | $25 |
👍🏻👎🏻 Pros and Cons of MailerLite
MailerLite is a great product, but it is definitely not a perfect product. While I really enjoy using it, there are some cons I found during my journey with it.
One that annoys me the most is that MailerLite doesn’t show the sending progress every time I send a new email campaign.
After clicking the send button, you will be directed back to the campaign manager without letting you know the email sending progress. As a comparison, MailPoet has this kind of feature.
Another annoying thing is that you can’t remove the email footer.
Here are some pros and cons of MailerLite:
Pros
MailerLite is a great option if you are looking for an affordable email marketing tool. You can use the pro version of MailLite from only $10 per month, which is way affordable compared to, for instance, Mailhimp.
You can use MailerLite to do a lot of things related to email marketing — apart from sending newsletters. It has solid automation, extensive integration support and a super easy-to-use editor.
MailerLite Pros:
- Affordable
- Solid automation
- Comprehensive features
- Extensive third-party app integration
- Robust stats
- Useful subscribers filtering
- Useful migration feature from Mailchimp
- E-commerce functionality
Cons
As I have just mentioned above, one of the most annoying things I found from MailerLite is that it doesn’t allow you to see the email sending progress. This feature might don’t matter for some, but it gives you a clear indication that your email is really being sent.
Another annoying thing is that you can’t remove the email footer.
MailerLite Cons:
- No email sending progress indicator
- No option to remove email footer
- Doesn’t allow you send emails from a free email account (e.g., Gmail)
- No PayPal support for its e-commerce feature
The Verdict: Is MailerLite Recommended?
Yes. MailerLite is a recommended email marketing tool. Especially if you are a Mailchimp user who needs a more affordable alternative.
If you have 10,000 subscribers, for instance, you need to spend $135 per month with Mailchimp. Meanwhile, if you use MailerLite, you only need to spend $65 per month for the same number of subscribers.
MailerLite has nearly all the features you need to run email marketing. From sending broadcast emails (newsletters), creating automations, sending email notifications and so on.
If you are a WordPress user, you can integrate MailerLite with the page builder plugin — or form builder plugin — of your choice.
MailerLite is also a great option if you are looking for a single platform to create a website, create landing pages, publish blog posts, run email newsletter and sell digital products.
Simply put, MailerLite is a great platform to run an online business.
Who MailerLite is Best for?
Overall, MailerLite is the best email marketing for affordability. But more specifically, it a great option if:
- You are looking for a cheaper alternative to Mailchimp
- You are a blogger who wants to build an email list
- You are looking for an all-in-one tool to build email list, send newsletters and sell digital products
- You are looking for a landing page builder to run ads on Meta Ads
