Hey,
Huge thanks. I am super happy you decided to take this free blogging course.
The actual course lesson is starting tomorrow, but let me give you a quick snapshot about what you will get after completing the course.
First thing first, I want to let you know in advance that affiliate marketing is the easiest way to make money from a blog – which is adopted by nearly all bloggers.
This course will also teach you how to run affiliate marketing business using your blog. But unlike other courses which focused on SEO, this course will teach how to be successful with affiliate marketing via email marketing.
More specifically, email automation.
If you haven’t heard about affiliate marketing before, no worries. I will further cover it in the course.
Why email marketing? 📩
Email is powerful when it comes to online marketing as it is a peer-to-peer traffic channel. No one can interfere with your content distribution as email is a protocol.
You won’t be interrupted by the algorithm.
Now, imagine the following case.
12 months after you completed this course, you find an online tool on the internet. After trying it for days, you find it great and worth sharing.
Turns out, the tool offers an affiliate program with the commission of $40 per sale.
You decide to write a review of the tool on your blog and share it with your, say, 5,000 subscribers.
1 percent of those subscribers (50) buy the tool via your affiliate links so you get $2,000 affiliate commissions.
From a single email campaign!
What if you send 4 different email campaigns within a month with the same scenario? That means $8,000 a month! From only 4 campaigns.
What if you have more subscribers? You can imagine yourself.
Email is that powerful.
Unfortunately, only a small number of bloggers who have really gotten the most out of email marketing. Most bloggers still, and too, rely on SEO.
Don’t get me wrong. I don’t hate SEO, just because Google has hit my blog.
Who doesn’t want free traffic, after all.
I still get traffic from SEO. I even still have an SEO plugin installed on my blogs.
I just want you to avoid the same mistake I did by not leveraging email marketing when you want to start a new blog.
You should build the email list from the day one you start a blog! Not later.
Big NO.
My friend.
I have been blogging for over a decade and never thought that SEO would be this hard.
SEO is getting harder and harder as Google is updating its algorithm more frequently than before due to AI.
As I said, today’s Google algorithm seems to favor big brands. Even if the content quality is poor. It’s really hard for small blogs to rank on Google. Let alone a new blog.
Even if you are currently having your blog posts on the top list of the Google SERP, there is no guarantee that it will still be there next month, or even next week. Duh!
Email list is the best asset of an online business 💰
SEO is ever-changing and uncertain.
If you truly want to build an online business via your blog, you should focus on building the email list.
Remember again. The email list is the biggest asset of an online business. Not SEO traffic. Not social media followers.
Google can change its algorithm. So do social media platforms. But no one can do anything with your email list. It will always be yours. Forever.
Having an email list will also make it easy for you to scale up your online business in the future.
Let’s say you want to run a membership on your site or sell a course in the future. Instead of running a paid campaign to promote it, you can start the promotion from your audience first.
Or you can validate your idea with them before you launch.
“Ditching” SEO allows you to be genuine. Oftentimes, bloggers are dictated by SEO tools during the content creation to make the content SEO optimized.
When writing content, you should focus on humans, not machines.
Trust me. Google and other search engines will find your content if it worth indexing and ranking.
Now. I want to remind you once again that this course won’t teach how to be a “SEO blogger”.
Instead, this course will teach you how to build a strong foundation for your online business via a blog.
This course will teach you how to build the most valuable asset of an online business – email list.
In the next 7 days, you will learn:
- How to build the right blogging mindset
- How to build an expert character
- How to get your blog online in 30 minutes
- How to develop a content strategy for your blog
- How to add value to your blog
- How to promote your blog and get $10,000 in 3 months
I need your help 🙏🏻
If you want to continue this course, I need your help to add my email address to your contacts to avoid my emails to end up in the the Promotions tab, or worse, Spam.
Here is how to do so.
If you use Gmail, you can hover your cursor over the email avatar and click the person icon.
If you are on Threads, you can follow my account @sunawang. Mention me and I will follow you back. Let’s make friends and win together.
FYI. I don’t always post about work (blogging) on Threads. Instead, I post random stuff there. I just want to be a human. Your friend 🙂
You can ask me anything about blogging.
