Creating a Product Bundle in WooCommerce with Bundler
Before getting started to create a product bundle with Bundler, let me tell you a bit about how the plugin works.
After creating a product bundle with the plugin, the products you add to the bundle (the bundled products) will have a new block beneath the Add to cart button of WooCommerce as shown below.
You can will only see the above product bundle block on the bundled products. In other words, other products on your store (the unbundled ones) will not have this block.
If the default look of the bundle block doesn’t match the color scheme of your store, Bundler allows you to tweak the design.
By the way, Bundler is a freemium plugin. The version of the plugin is available on WordPress.org.
Apart from being able to create product bundles, Bundler is also capable of creating quantity breaks offers.
Step 1: Install and Activate Bundler
Of course, you need to install the Bundler plugin first before you can use it.
To start installing the plugin, login to your WordPress dashboard and go to the plugin manager screen by clicking the Plugins menu item on the menu panel. Then, click the Add New Plugin button.
Next, type “bundler” on the search box. Once you have found it, click the Install Now button to install Bundler on your website.
Don’t forget to activate the plugin once installed.
Step 2: Add Your First Product Bundle
Once the Bundler plugin is successfully installed and activated, you can start to create your first product bundle.
Remember the rule again. The products you add to the bundle should be related between each other.
To start creating a product bundle, first, hover your cursor over the Bundler menu item (this menu item will show up after you activate the plugin) and select Bundles.
Click the Create new bundle button on the upper-right side.
Give your offer (the product bundle) a name and add the header. Header is the headline of your offer. It plays a role to grab the attention of your buyers. So, craft it carefuly.
Once done setting the offer name and header, move on to the Bundled products section. Here is the section where you can pick the products you want to add to the bundle. Currently, Bundler only allows you to add maximum of two products.
To add the products to the bundle, you can type the product names on the available fields. By the way, you can see the live preview of the product bundle block on the right side of the screen.
Next, move on to the Bundle discount section to add a discount to your bundle. Adding a discount is not required, but a discount can ignite the buying decision of your potential buyers. So, adding one can be a great idea.
Bundler allows you to add either a fixed discount or dynamic discount. You can click the dropdown menu to specify the discount type you want to offer. Simply type the number of the discount after specifying a discount type.
Once you are done making the necessary settings, click the Save button on the upper-right corner to apply the changes.
Lastly, you can visit the products you have just added to the bundle and you should see a new block beneath the add to chart button as shown previously above.
Managing the Product Bundles
If you need to edit the product bundle you have just created, you can go to back to the Bundles screen (Bundler -> Bundles). Click the three-dot icon on the bundle you want to edit and select Edit.
As you can see on the screenshot, you can also disable, duplicate, and delete the bundle.
Bundler supports bulk action which is super useful if you have multiple product bundles on your store. You can joint-turn off or turn on several bundles. Take a look at the following screencast.
Step 3: Customize the Design of the Bundle Block
By default, the bundle block of Bundler has a simple enough design. It has a black button, black border, and black texts.
Yes, everything is black by default and I bet it doesn’t match your store color scheme.
Thankfully, Bundler allows you to customize the design of the bundle block. You can set things like button color, text color, to border color. You can also replace the default “GRAB THIS DEAL” button text if you want it.
Note: The ability to customize the bundle block design is only available on the pro version. If you enjoy using Bundler, you can get the pro version on its official website.
To start customizing the design, go to the Bundler settings screen and click the Bundles tab.
Scroll down to the Colors and Button setting sections. As you can see, there are options to set the background color of the bundle, to set the button color, to set the text color, and so on.
Once you have satisfied with the new design, you can click the Save button on the upper-right corner to apply all the changes you have made.
